A.D. 235
In the last few weeks and months I worked on several productions. One production is called AD 235, a feature film based on a documentary background. E.g. the story is told in a scenic manner, but the history is kept highly factual. The length of the movie is about 60 minutes. Read the rest of this entry »
Aspect Ratio Tool
Because of the rearrangement of a meeting, I had some time to play around with Flex today. There are some small problems that I always get confronted with during working. The “aspect ratio” problem is such a small problem. Artists who work with visual media (as stills and motion media) have to think about aspect ratio on their daily bases. I often ask the question “I know the width of this picture, and I want it to have an aspect ratio of 16:9, what is the compatible height?”. To face this problem, i wrote a Flex application.
Update from 7th May 2010: The application has been updated. Additionally to the fixed Version, I added an aspect ratio preview (with relative size) to the application.
Pinnacle Clothing (PT. 2)
One month ago, I wrote a post about the project of filming and editing the Pinnacle Clothing print process. Now the Video is finished.
The target is to show customers, how the guys of Pinnacle print their T-shirts. That means, from the beginning of adjusting the print onto the sieves until the finishing of the prints on the T-Shirts. It’s less a documentary, but more an artificial editing piece. I hope you like it!

5 nice short animations!

So I want to share my top 5 (of those, i’ve seen, yet) with you! If you know about great short animations, please let me know!

Kopfsache – stop motion
Last semester a group of 9 students (including me) had a great experience in producing a fancy stop-motion short! Within the limits of a student project we produced a classic stop-motion movie combined with real takes.
Pinnacle Clothing (pt. 1)
Last week I had the chance to work with Canon’s EOS 5D Mark II. To test the camera on its abilities i wanted to do a small project. Then my brother and some friends wanted me to document their print workflow at the same time. Perfect. Pinnacle Clothing loves to make, hear and live for reggae music. To show their passion for this, they’re creating stunning T-shirts.
Contest piece!
Last week I read about a fun contest of the vfxboard.de! For me it was a motivation to try some experiments in Maya and Photoshop.
